In celebration of my 10 year Anniversary from my first winning competition, I'm featuring some playful clips from my older performances and competitions. They are rough but looking back, we had lot's of energy and this was all part of the journey.
Couples Paolo & Lauren and Vanessa & Enrico perform a new further developed routine to Rosie the Riveter (2006). A short bit of history scrolls during the performance because the footage was dark. Choreographed by Paolo.
Lindy Hop Performance at Irving Plaza 2001. I choreographed this routine which was influenced heavily by the Trankey Doo that I had discovered that season. The cats in the group really cranked up the Styling. Some notables in this performance include: Manu Smith, John Dokes, Michelle Morales, Nancy Cuervo, Denise See.
2003 Balboa Demo NYC. Jennifer Gapay and I worked out the drop in this Demonstration from a clip she found in her collection that featured Balboa dancers on a beach in California (circa 1945). We broke it down and this became our version of it.
This was the infancy stage of the routine that would become the Balbusters signature performance. This Rosie the Riveter number was performed 2 months later with 2 couples. 2006
The BalBusters led by Paolo perform to Hawaiian War Chant (2004). Dancers include Doriana, Vanessa, Marty, Lauren and Tara. This routine features Balboa and Collegiate Shag patterns and was performed at Pier 54 and Mid Summernight Swing in NYC.
2000 These film clips are from The "For Dancers Only Tour" with the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Featured are Janice and Paolo followed by the Finale Stop in NYC at Roseland Ballroom.
These Bloopers from our dance class review back in 2000 are quite the comedy routine. Although relatively new to the World Of Lindy Hop at that time, we were enjoying invitations from around the country to teach what little we knew about this dance.

Here it is! Footage from Lola Staar's Dreamland Roller Rink Swing Party on Oct 10, 2008. It's brand spankin new! Thank you all for attending. You all made this premier concept combining dancing and roller skating a reality and the proprietor loved it.
